Two Snake Studios

HEAR YE! - HEAR YE!

We are inviting all to attend our end of the year Workshop and Ethiopian food afterwards. It is our gift to you and a wonderful opportunity to move together and to sit down and eat and talk together. The second part is a rarity in our experience throughout most of the rest of the year. Everyone is welcome, students from studios and practice spaces other than Two-Snake and students who study with all/any teachers of The Thinking Body – The Feeling Mind® are ever so welcome. Those who joined us in Idyllwild for the first time are welcome, too.

Notes from: The IDYLLWILD Workshop

The Idyllwild experience was magnificent. The practice room, the food, the feeling, the grounds and the accommodations were just right.

Here are just some of the comments we heard:

Kristin Kreiger: “What a wonderful retreat it was! I loved the grounds and the magnificent room, the food. I loved seeing you just loving it - doing such a beautiful job.”

Fumi Naughton: “Thank you for such a wonderful retreat, it was just that "wonderful" in so many ways. The location, the space, the accommodation, the food - and of course the teaching!. It was amazing that after all that moving, I did not have any complaints from the body. It just LOVED it!”

Joann Ruden: “Thank you for a positively stimulating and inspirational weekend! We both enjoyed the entire 4 days and hope next year we will be in a place to be able to do it again.”

We are working right now on scheduling again for next year, so that more of you can plan ahead and join us for an experience that deepens your practice at a time of the year when most of us are pulled away from classes for the pending holidays. Watch this space for details.

In Remembrance of LISA ELLIOTT and ANNA SINGLETON

Lisa Elliott, friend and costumer extraordinaire died the week before Idyllwild and Anna Singleton, friend and administrator extraordinaire died the week after Idyllwild. The losses are profound along with too many others this year. I have sometimes no idea how I will move onward without the love, care and excellence of these people. They are so very missed.

A Year’s Worth of Thank You’s for:

Our big blessing is Gayle Peitzer Hilbert, who works along side of me and is/was the only person Anna Singleton actually approved of in the year and a half that she has not been able to run the back of the studio -- and the many intangibles that need to be done on a daily/weekly basis.

We are also very grateful for Diane Raymen, property, construction, transportation, general trouble-shooting and handyperson extraordinaire. Also Our Thanks go to: Hagit Worona, graphics; Peter Rashkin, website; Claire Wynters, media; Rigo Ayala, Moises Ayala, Antonio and all of the teachers of The Thinking Body – The Feeling Mind®: Molly Hagan, Kristin Kreiger, Gretchen Kreiger, Fumi Naughton, Jan Zeitlin, Kai Landworth, Ann Mundy, Vera Chew, Dale Ballantyne.

Ann Mundy is teaching individuals who have brain injuries and some physical disabilities (see http://subtleyoga.com/index.php?topic=yoga_philosophy_Kaov).

THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME END OF THE YEAR REFLECTIONS ON THE THINKING BODY – THE FEELING MIND®:

“Homage, o poverty, to you. through your grace, I have acquired magic (yogic) powers. I can see the whole world, but not a soul sees me.”
(Translation of a Sanskrit poem by Kai Landworth)

Jim Grant (student of Jan Zeitlin): “The Thinking Body – The Feeling Mind® is like organic human origami”

Juanita Phillips: "I close my eyes while I’m doing class so I can listen to myself”

Kai Landworth: “The Thinking Body – The Feeling Mind® is organized so that the body can find its own way”
